Trip to Missouri

Our little family spent the last week in Missouri visiting my parents where my dad is the Mission President. We had a Utah Star sighting while visiting. Can anyone guess the man on the left in the picture? The gentleman on the left is Duane Cardall, who has been on KSL 5 news for years as an anchor and the religion specialist. He and my dad were companions in Holland 40 years+ ago.I must say that they both have pretty great hair for being 63+.
My mom was nice and bought Cole a bunch of toys to play with while we were visiting. Unfortunately he found her exercise bands and free weights fascinating. He would crawl out of the room with the toys and plop down in the middle of the weights. It was funny.

Here is Cole crawling around pulling a 6 lb weight everywhere. I have to admit it did slow him down quite a bit.

The home they live in is nice. Most of the house has been updated except the master bath. This red tub is HUGE. The pic's don't do it justice. It is even up on a platform all alone. Cole loves it he could crawl all around.

Cole and my mom.
I left for a few minuets to find my mom teaching Cole how to crawl through a hoop. Why?.... I still don't know but I guess it is a good sign that he caught on faster than Bailey did.

Good times at Jordanelle

Last weekend we spent the day up at Jordanelle. It was so cold driving up the canyon in the morning I was sure we would get on the water and get right out. The Jeep said it was 49 degrees at one point. Fortunately for us it warmed right up and we had a great day. A bunch of people had told us that Cole would go to pieces once we put him in his life jacket but actually in true Cole form he loved it.

If you look close you can see that he has 6 teeth It seems like they just arrived overnight. It makes me sad - he is not a baby anymore :(.

Typical mom/wife I was the only one who got a sunburn. I was so worried about Cole and even more worried about redhead Justin I completely forgot to throw sunscreen on myself. Such is the life of a mom.

The water was pretty cold. I jumped in anyway and told Justin it was too cold for his tender water temperature tastes. I even added that I promised NOT to tease him if he chose not to get in. Men are funny creatures, of course he jumped in and the look on his face was priceless. He hid the camera from me on purpose. He looked SO surprised at the temp. Funny stuff. I laughed for at least 10 min. I reminded him that I did not promise not to tease him if he did jump in. Good times at Jordanelle.

Free fun at liberty park.

A few weeks ago my girlfriend Hillary and I had made plans to go to the pool with the kids. Sadly for us all the pools were closed :( Really ALL of them, I called all over the valley. It was the first day of public school and apparently all the lifeguards are high school students. Since the kids were all greased up with the 17 anti-crypto required diapers on we decided to go see my favorite sister (also my only) who has been spending this summer as a gardner/lifeguard at the Liberty Park water feature.
The kids had a great time. It is really geared for walking age kids but Cole loved splashing and watching his toys float down the little streams. Hillary's girls had a lots of fun exploring and walking all over in the little tide pools and mini fountains.
So, if it warms up again and you are looking for something fun to do that is also free :) Go check it out. It is directly east of the green house (not at the playground). It is also chlorinated which is nice to know. Beware Saturdays are really crowded, I would recommend a weekday. If you see a tall blondie running around it is probably my sister go say hi.

Goodbye little red house

It has been a busy few weeks we finally sold our house. Yea! I was afraid if I said too much before the ink was dry and the check was in the bank it would fall through. The people that bought our tiny red house wanted to close 15 days earlier than we had planned. Justin and I packed and moved in 2 days. We did hire a moving company to help - mostly due to the time crunch and we have good friends who own a moving company. Unfortunately for us they broke the glass door to our dryer and lost a main part of a bed frame. Beware if you sleep in our guest room - the bed may or may not fall apart on you. We did have friends staying last weekend and they didn't report any furniture mishaps :)

On the big moving day a large family of hornets or bee's ( I didn't get close enough to decide) had moved in and set up shop under our porch. Lucky for us it was at the old house. I pulled up to the house and two of the movers were running around in circles flapping their arms all over. I thought they were on drugs for a second until one of them yelled for me to stay in the car due to the bee attack. Poor guys they were each stung at least 5 times.
We are 90% unpacked and now have 2 sets of everything. I feel like we are in college again having to label all of our stuff. I told my mom when they get back I was apologising in advance if I pack up and take her stuff. It is getting hard to remember who's is who's.
I hope all of you had more fun on Labor Day than we did. I am still waiting for a 3 day holiday weekend when we don't have a project.
