Goodbye Mom and Dad & Happy 2nd Annual 29th Birthday Margie.

So sad. Saturday we said goodbye to my parents. They are off to be Mission Presidents in the Independence, Missouri Mission. I know it is a huge honor but I am still accepting the idea that they will be gone for 3 years. If I can figure out how to put one of those countdown clocks on my blog it will be there. 3 years is such a long time. I really hope they love it in Missouri and it is everything they thought it would be. They do get free dry-cleaning and a maid. I guess it couldn’t be all that bad.

I think I have gained 5 lbs these last few weeks. My dad was really into having last meals. “This is the last time we can eat with Justin before we leave”, “this is the last time we can go to TGI Friday’s” (my parents favorite restaurant….who knows why?), “this is the last time we can go out for breakfast as a family”. We had so many last meals I can’t keep track anymore. Our last last meal was for my sis’s 2nd annual 29th birthday. Her 30th was so horrible she decided to go back to being 29. I may follow in her footsteps.

She picked the SkyBox which was good but kind of funny since it is kind of a bar type restaurant. There were my cute parents all dressed up to go to the MTC sitting in the skybox surrounded by a group of guys getting loaded watching a game. Luckily my parents are exceptionally open-minded.

Surprisingly there were no tears, which is good since I don’t cry often but when I do my body tries to make up for all the times I held the tears in and I can’t stop. Although Justin was out of town and I had to say goodbye solo it went better than I thought it would. All in all it was much less dramatic than I expected.

Last dinner with Justin.

Final dinner at Sky Box. That's my sister to the left.

Cole and Justin at the farewell. Cole was very excited to be at church.

I guess opera is not Justin’s forte.

Poor Cole. Justin sang one more time and he went to pieces all over again. 3 weeks ago we were at a wedding for our friends Chief and Liz, when the boys sang her the customary Sigma Chi Sweetheart song he lost it again. He even has a special “I hate singing” cry. I guess men singing and Cole just don’t mix. So much for my dreams that he would become a famous Broadway star.

The Albrecht Family

You have to start somewhere??

Hello Blogging world. Here goes my attempt at blogging. I should have started this blog months ago when Cole was born but 7 months and 1 quit job later here I am. I guess I have to start somewhere and yesterday was a fun first. Cole's first haircut. He really didn't have much hair to cut. Although what hair he did have was starting to resemble a baby combover. It was funny, he liked looking at himself in the mirror the most. The cute girl at Cookie Cutters only charged me $5 since she was just giving the combover a trim. I wonder if they give old men deals on their combover trims?
Before...aka baby combover.

After...all spiked up.

Justin's Favorite...the baby fo-hawk.

(I googled the spelling on that one...pretty interesting results)
